Visitor Guidelines
To ensure the safety of other visitors and our collection, Stahls Motors & Music Experience enforces the following policies:
- Visitors are asked to avoid touching vehicles, exhibited objects, and display platforms at all times.
- Handheld photography is permitted. Tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks are not permitted at any time. Photos can only be used for personal use and cannot sold in any manner.
- Large or oversized backpacks, camera bags, purses, umbrellas, and other similar items are not permitted on the floor. This allows more accessibility to the cars without accidentally scratching them. Diaper bags can be stored in strollers.

- Video surveillance is used throughout the building, inside and out. Be advised that you may be photographed while on site. We do share some photos to our social media/website.

How many cars are in the collection?
We generally keep close to 100 cars on the floor at a time. We rotate the cars on display so that each visit differs from the last.
Are the exhibited cars drivable?
Most of the cars are drivable and are in carefully restored condition. If a car is signed up for a show, careful preparation ensures it is in top condition to run and look beautiful.
Are visitors permitted to touch the cars?
We ask that you help preserve our collection by not touching the cars. This includes leaning against them, opening the doors or hood, or touching the cars while posing for pictures. Every touch, brush, or scrape leaves a mark on the car. Oil from fingertips can leave permanent marks on the metal and paint. However, we offer a few vehicles for visitors to sit in for photos. We ask that children are not left unattended in these vehicles and that no pedals, buttons, or switches are pressed. If unsure what vehicles you can sit in, please ask a staff member or docent. They may also be able to open a hood or door for you.
Are the bright colors and color combinations on the cars original?
Since color movies did not become popular until the late 1950s, most people don’t realize that cars of earlier years, especially 30s and 40s, were available in an array of colors. Many offered custom color choices to buyers.
Are visitors permitted to take photographs?
Yes, photography is encouraged in either still or video format. Feel free to take as many photos as you would like! However, the collection does not allow tripods, monopods, or selfie sticks to safeguard the collection and protect our visitors. Photos are not to be sold in any format.
Who keeps the cars clean?
Our wonderful volunteer staff cleans, polishes, and vacuums the cars to get them ready for our visitors to enjoy.
Are animals allowed?
Service animals are welcome in the museum. Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Pets are not permitted.
Are you just open on Tuesdays and the first Saturday of each month?
We do have special events, including Night at the Museum and Summer Cruise-Ins, along with Autos for Autism and our Veterans Open House. These events can be found on the EVENTS tab calendar on our website.
Can you rent the collection for a private event?
Yes! We can host corporate events, private parties, and meetings. We do not have the proper facilities for weddings at this time. Our new annex building is in the planning stages and will be available for larger events. Stay tuned for updates!
