Event Summary
Despite a touch of rain, the very first Orphan Car Show at Stahls Motors & Music Experience was a resounding success! The drizzle didn’t dampen the spirits of car owners, enthusiasts, and families who came out to celebrate the marques and models that time has left behind, but history has never forgotten.
From Pontiacs and Packards to Hudsons, Studebakers, and so many more, our grounds were filled with unique and fascinating vehicles that showcased the innovation and artistry of automakers long gone. Guests were able to stroll the collection, enjoy live stories during the “Pass in Review,” and share their love of automotive history with fellow enthusiasts. Youth judges along with the Mentor judges, and awards added extra excitement, making the day memorable for participants of all ages.
A Special Honor
The highlight of the show was the presentation of the “Lost but Not Least” Best in Show Award, which went to Dani Homrich for his stunning 1937 Packard 1501 Dietrich Victoria. This remarkable automobile captured the admiration of judges and spectators alike, earning its place as the star of the day. Dani took home a Stahls camping chair with a canopy and a rolling Yeti cooler!
Community, Cars, and Camaraderie
What made this event truly special was the sense of community. Even with umbrellas in hand, guests lingered to share stories, admire the craftsmanship of these “orphan” vehicles, and connect over a shared passion for preserving automotive history.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, from car owners who proudly displayed their treasures, to volunteers and staff who made the day run smoothly, and to every guest who came to support this new tradition.
The success of our first Orphan Car Show ensures it won’t be the last, plans are already underway for next year, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back to celebrate even more lost but not forgotten legends. Please let us know what you thought if you attended the show!
