Since we cannot open on Veterans Day this year, we’ve decided to go virtual. We will give a walk-through of the museum on Wednesday, November 11 beginning at 1:00 pm on our Facebook page. We will be selling raffle tickets with some great prizes! Information will be posted on our events tab. We want to make sure that veterans know that even though we can’t all gather physically, we will never forget them or what they’ve done for us. All proceeds will benefit Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs. Stay tuned for more information!

Join us for a fun day of pizza, cars, music, and friends! This annual event raises money for the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 154 and also brings in non-perishable food items for their food bank. We also collect toys for the Marines Toys for Tots program. The event is open to the public and there is an entry fee at the door. See the flyer for details!
Despite the snowpocalypse that hit on Monday bringing 8″ of heavy, wet snow to the area, our Veteran’s Day Open House carried on! Guests lined up at 10:00 am to enter the collection and were guided to a table where veterans name badges containing their name, branch, and years of service were made. Patriotic music filled the building while Bob Hope entertained on the big screen. Our ceremony began at 11:00 with speeches from John Lind of the Arsenal of Democracy museum, Dan Stahl of GroupeSTAHL, Mary Lamparter of Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc., and Sheldon Ewers and his service dog Roy closing. A very talented 5-year-old named Nina brought tears to all while she sang the National Anthem and America The Beautiful. You can see a clip of her singing here. After the ceremony, guests strolled through the collection admiring the beautiful rows of cars, memorabilia, signs, and gas pumps. Guest organist Justin LaVoie played the Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, delighting all our guests. This year we added a “Thank You” wall that held notes from local schools, JROTC programs, scout groups, and Stahl’s visitors thanking veterans for their service. The notes were available for veterans to take home and the leftover notes will be sent to local veterans groups. Military items were on display and tshirts were available for a donation to Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc.
On Saturday, a charity hockey game was held between Team Stahls and Detroit Red Wings Alumni at the St. Clair Shores Civic Arena. The Wings roster included Darren McCarty, Drew Miller, Joe Kocer, and Dino Ciccarelli to name a few. The Ted Lindsay trophy was on hand and a moment of silence was held to honor the passing of Mr. Lindsay in March of 2019. The game was a real nail-biter but as we all know, the real winners are the veterans.
We thank you, we honor you. Thank you for your service.
We have added a couple new events to our Events page including our Annual Veterans Day Open House and Power Play for Heroes Hockey game! The game takes place on Saturday, November 9th at Noon and features Team Stahls vs Detroit Red Wing Alumni with some of your favorite past Detroit Red Wings. You can purchase advance tickets at the St. Clair Shores Civic Arena (20000 Stephens St., St Clair Shores, MI 48080) or on game day for $10 each, kids 10 and under are free. Game day includes raffles, memorabilia, autograph sessions and a fun environment for all to enjoy all while benefiting Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs, Inc.
Our 6th Annual Veterans Day Open House will also benefit Guardian Angels while we open the doors of the collection from 10:00-5:00. We will have special military displays along with music, t-shirts and other items honoring our veterans. All are welcome, you do not need to be a veteran to attend. Entry to the museum is always by donation and since all donations are benefiting veterans, we ask that everyone dig a little deeper on this day.
Thank you to everyone who came out on Wednesday, December 19th and helped us raise money and food for the Vietnam Veterans Chapter 154 and brought so many toys for the Marines Toys for Tots drive! We had a record number of donations of food and toys! Thank you to the No Name Car Club, Father and Son’s Pizza, and Marco’s Pizza of Chesterfield for all you do to make this event great! A special shout out to First Place Lounge for holding your own toy drive and dropping the toys at the museum. Visitors got to see the new additions right before they are being tucked away for a bit. They also got to see the 1916 Hudson go for a quick spin! Be sure you don’t miss out for next year, bigger and better things are in the works! We start collecting food and toys on Black Friday! Merry Christmas and Happy Motoring New Year to all!
