1968 Chitty

The car that generated the love of the automobile for many has landed at Stahls Auto Collection.  This Chitty car was used in the classic “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” film released in 1968.  The story written by Ian Fleming, Roald Dahl, and Ken Hughes tells the story of a down-on-his-luck inventor who creates a magical vehicle from an old Grand Prix car.  He and his children go off on a magical adventure to save his grandfather.  The movie starred Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffries, and of course, Chitty.  The vehicle now on display at Stahls was used in the scenes where Chitty was driving herself.
