Stop in the museum and see the latest addition! A 1911 Oldsmobile Autocrat nicknamed “Yellow Peril”, this brass racer was purchased new in 1911 by John Henry Greenway Albert. The Autocrat was the “junior” model of the Olds Limited but it was not its junior by much, the T-head four was essentially a Limited engine but with two less cylinders, being capable of displacing 500 cubic inches, and the tires spanned 38 inches across. This vehicle has participated and won many races in it’s time and has toured many areas across the US. Yellow Peril retains its original engine, drivetrain, and its original racing bodywork. The “mother-in-law” seat was added in later years.
Our 1909 Austin was among the chosen for the 2017 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. We proudly accepted and displayed her on the famed 18th fairway on August 20th. She was the largest vehicle in our circle of 10 with a 140″ inch wheelbase and was a crowd favorite. We were please to meet so many new friends and to catch up with old ones. Even though the Austin did not win an award, we left with smiles on our faces and as the Hollywood saying goes, “It was an honor being nominated!” Click here to check out more photos on our Facebook page!

We spent the weekend on the beautiful grounds of the Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, MI for the Concours d’Elegance of America. Pictured here is our 1925 Renault, just one of the three vehicles we showed. All three are back in their spots at the museum so come on out and see them for yourself!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, there will be no Cruise In this Thursday 7-13-17. See you next week!!
Stahls Auto Museum!!!! We won Best Lunch City for the 2017 Great Race! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this event run so smooth! We had such a great time meeting all the racers and seeing the thousands of spectators line the streets to welcome the cars. For those of you that didn’t make it inside the museum, remember we are open every Tuesday from 1:00-4:00 and the first Saturday of the month from 11:00-4:00!
Mary and Ted Stahl were also awarded the Spirit of the Event award for their constant support of the race and for offering up their race vehicle so that two of our own racers whose car broke down the day before the race, could compete in their first Great Race. Of course, their actions did not surprise any of us that know them. Ted’s own words that we hear from him constantly are “Be Kind”, and he and Mary are great examples of that statement.
Trevor Stahl and Josh Hull came in 5th in the Expert Division and 7th Overall! Stop in to see the beautiful trophies on display in the Music Room!
What an amazing 3 days! Our Hat Trick for Heroes event was a booming success! It all began with a gala with special guest Jay Leno who put on a fantastic show and was able to tour the museum with Mary and Ted Stahl. On Veterans Day, we held our 3rd Annual Open House where veterans, their families and all who support them, were invited to tour the museum, buy shirts, hats and dog tags to support our local heroes. We capped off the trio of fundraisers with the Stahls’ hockey team vs. Detroit Red Wing Alumni in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. We are so honored to be able to host these gatherings for our veterans as a way of giving back to those who gave so much for our freedom. All funds raised will be donated to the Disabled American Veterans, Michigan region.
Thank you to all who have served, are currently serving and their families! We will see you next year!
